Even though the soap strips my skin of moisture, the shampoo dehydrates my hair, and the lotion leaves behind a waxy film that I spend all day scratching off with my finger nails. I can't help myself! I have to take them home with me.
"What is all of that?" My husband asked, as he watched me dump out our toiletry bag into the bathroom sink.
"Shampoo," I answered frankly.
"Why do you have so much of it?" he questioned.
"I don't know? Every night I threw them in my bag, and every day the maid brought me more."
"What's a shoe mitt?" he teased, implying lunacy, while rummaging through the sink of goodies.
"I don't know but they gave me one," I told him.
Later...I put my most recent complimentary items away...and there was only one little problem.
I think I'm going to need a bigger box.
I think I'm going to need a bigger box.
My husband may have a point.

Donate them to your homeless shelter. Then, instead of having a problem you are being a good citizen.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has a bunch of these! My kids like to use them, or I've given them to a shelter. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for sampling free goods.
ReplyDeleteBut Kris is right, you could donate them to a homeless shelter. They could do a lot of good.
ReplyDeleteGood! Someone else who insanely collects all that hotel stuff, just in case!
ReplyDeleteHee hee hee! That's great. I only take the shampoos and lotions if I absolutely love the smell. I'm picky about smells, so if I like the smell of one of those complimentary bottles, I must have it.
ReplyDeleteI agree to donate them! That's a great idea. Funny post. :) :)
ReplyDeleteYou and my Sweetman have something in common.
ReplyDeleteI love samples, of anything; perfume, chocolate, Kindle books, just to name a few. But I always find myself bringing home a case full of the little shampoos and lotions.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a creative post for the challenge.
Thank you so much for following! I replied to your email and can't wait to get you set up as a sponsor!!! Thanks! Oh, and I'm your new follower too!
ReplyDeleteIt is not so bad :) see how many have the same habit (me included LOL)? The donation idea is great!
ReplyDeleteLol! I knew by the title on FB exactly what this post was going to be about! I keep the nice ones and put them in a basket that I keep in my guest bathroom for whenever I have houseguests...then they end up using or taking them!
ReplyDeleteYou could use them at the gym....if you went that is. Or leave them at the end of the drive with a free sign, you could put one on your husband too.
ReplyDeletemy mil keeps them in the guest bathroom in drawers.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect, we go stay with them for a week and our bathroom, just pull open some drawers and take a pick.
I thought it was a clever way of using them! Resourceful.

I ejoyed reading this post. I use them for travelling. The ban on more than 50ml liquids in your hand luggage make these a gift. I love the sewing kits, great in an emergency
ReplyDeleteOur office used to have a box for people to add these hotel toiletries too since we had lots of travelers, then as others mentioned above, they were donated.
ReplyDeleteHAHA....truer words were never spoken! Perhaps give them away to trick-or-treaters!?
ReplyDeleteI have a million of these- it never occured to me to donate them! What a great idea from your followers! Loved this post (stopping by from CBC)!!
ReplyDeleteI love the mini shampoos. And sometime, the lotions smell really good, and I want more. They fit just right in my purse.
