Marshmallows?

An old man recently flagged my husband down while driving.  The old man motioned for him to roll down his window and then asked him to pull over.  This man had no teeth.

"What is Raising Marshmallows?"  The old man asked slowly, pointing at the window decal on my husbands truck.  "I've been driving behind you and I just had to ask."

"My wife's blog,"  my husband answered.

"Does the white stuff spilling over the back of your tailgate have anything to do with the website?" The old man was still confused.

"No...that's taping mud."  My husband laughed, he explained it wasn't candy.

"What's the blog about then?"  The old man asked.

My husband handed him one of my business cards and suggested he check it out.

So my apologies to all who have stumbled across this blog thinking you would find marshmallows only to discover parental sarcasm.

While the literal light, spongy, very sweet confection, made up of corn syrup, gelatin, sugar, and starch, then dusted with powdered sugar doesn't live in this blog...the proverbial kind does.

  2. Did you make up business cards just to make people aware of your blog? Does anyone ever think that's weird? Maybe some people have thought I was weird because I made up business cards also--still have a lot left. But at least when the subject comes up I can hand them a card in case they really are interested. I figured it was worth a shot.

  13. Speaking of the real, not proverbial kind, check out this link to my local patisserie. They actually specialise in marshmallows:

Their passionfruit mallow is my favourite. Sigh...

  18. Thanks for stopping by. Love your blog :) I think kids give us the most fodder for blog posts than anything else could...unless men with no teeth show up. (My dwarf children were harassed by a man with no teeth who couldn't stop talking about their "shortness" after he left they coudn't stop talking about his lack of teeth.)

  21. Hi, Nikki! Thanks for stopping by Book Dreaming today. I hope I don't disappoint you when I say my hair is not really pink. It's photo-shopped in support of Lisa and Laura Roecker's book release. Although, my students would probably love it if I dyed it this color! :-)

  26. Hello fellow Crusader! Is it okay to capitalize crusader?

I dig the blog sticker and cards. Where can one get such things? I actually don't like telling real life people about my blog because I hate explaining what it's all about. Maybe a card would work.

    Following now...

  32. Crusader and new follower! This was a cute post. I can relate to your profile as well. I was the PTA Auditor but only because nobody else wanted the position. Yes, this is what it has come to. Only in my PTA meetings I was up against ex-cheerleaders competing over how much plastic surgery they all had and forming side groups that inevitably left me as the outsider. Dang it! I signed up for high school all over again. I lasted a year and vowed never again. Haha! Love my kids but not enough to be on the PTA board. Nice to meet you!
